From the Desk of the
President
First Aid Council of India (FACI)
Dear Esteemed Citizens, Educators, and Well-Wishers,
As the President of the First Aid Council of India, I am filled with a deep sense of purpose and responsibility each day. Our journey, which began in 2017, is driven by a single, profound belief: that the ability to save a life should not be a privilege, but a fundamental skill possessed by every citizen.
We established FACI with the vision of going beyond the conventional role of an organization; we aim to establish a national standard for First Aid Education across India. We envision a future where first aid is not just a learned skill, but an intrinsic part of our societal fabric—a way of life and a mindset that fosters a culture of immediate response, empathy, and compassion.
A Mission to Create a Nation of First Responders
In a country as vast and diverse as India, relying solely on emergency services is not always feasible. This is why our mission is both ambitious and noble: to make first aid knowledge accessible to everyone, from the bustling streets of our cities to the most remote villages.
We are working diligently to integrate structured first aid training into schools, colleges, workplaces, and community centers. By collaborating with educational institutions, healthcare professionals, and community organizations, we strive to create a comprehensive framework that ensures the widespread dissemination of this life-saving education.
Our Distinctive Approach
It is important to clarify our distinctive role in the national landscape. Our mission is to establish a dedicated and focused approach to first aid education that fills a critical gap in public knowledge. We aim to create a universally recognized standard for first aid training across India, ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their background or location, has access to quality, structured, and certified first aid education. This is the ideology we champion—to build a self-reliant and prepared nation where the power to save a life rests in the hands of every individual.
The Road Ahead
We are proud of the milestones we have achieved, including our recent partnership with the Government of Kerala to launch the state's first-of-its-kind first aid education program, the 'Niramaya Keralam’. This is a significant step towards our larger goal of influencing policy and making first aid education compulsory in educational and professional standards across the nation.
As we move forward, I urge every individual, institution, and organization to join us in this great cause. Let us unite in our commitment to building a safer, more prepared India. Let us become everyday heroes, equipped with the knowledge and confidence to act when it matters most.
Together, we can transform the First Aid Council of India from an organization into a driving force behind a nationwide movement of compassion, preparedness, and the unwavering commitment to saving lives.
